what's going on with my life, the short version

Michael apparently likes it when I'm assertive with him, in the meeting today he seemed impressed with me and actually has been laughing at my jokes lately. Maybe I'm just THAT good. Apparently HE is that good as well, I guess he's the David Hasselhoff of sleep research, in that he's pretty famous in Germany. He IS one of the leading insomnia researchers, and does interviews with people all over the country for books and tv things. So...that's pretty cool too.

I talked to Catharine on the phone the other night, and I saw Cindy all weekend. It feels good to talk to old friends, even if they do remind me of the laid-backness of how the lab used to be.

Andrew and I had another discussion about our relationship last night. Apparently now it's he who is having the problems, even though I'm very much not out of the woods. Everything will work out eventually, it's just taking forever. And a note to Tim, you think you're so smart and know exactly what's going on in my relationship but wont' tell me a word of what you think. What does that prove? That you want my attention so bad that you have to try to dangle carrots in front of me? It's not fun, and IMing me with your 14 different screen names won't solve any of my problems. And I'm not giving you an interview either! (I realize that this constitues me giving you attention, but you pissed me off last night)

Anyway, Alex is back in the lab! She's so interesting, I found out today that she was born in Saudi Arabia and wants to move to Palestine to the West Bank to work on an ambulence because Palestinians can only go to hospitals over the border if an American or an Israeli is escorting them (I think that's what she said). She's the whitest girl ever but she's obsessed with the Middle East, speaks Arabic, and was almost recruited for the CIA. So freakin cool.

On the other side of the spectrum, Ben is leaving the lab. Ben is also one of the coolest people ever. He is cousins to one of my best friends, he is the pickiest eater I've ever seen in my life because he doesn't want to put anything impure into his system, and he is leaving the lab to move to St. Louis and be in the Americorps fighting hurricanes and tornadoes. Oh and he's hands down one of the funniest people I've ever met. AND even though I'm his boss we can act like kids together and giggle. *sigh* Stupid people who want to save the world. I'm going to his going away party on friday, I'll most likely have some good pics.

What else....when I work overnights I tend to eat one meal a day so I've lost a pound in the last week. I'm sure it'll come back eventually. Oh and I have wednesday AND friday completely off! I do have to do an overnight thursday but still, 2 (or 3 if you count thursday) whole days to do whatever I want. Awesome.

Well that's it for now, kiddos. I should go eat dinner or something constructive.
