Last night was pretty low key....I went to wegmans with Joe and we rented a movie with Sue. We took approximately 3 hours getting the movie b/c everyone wanted different things. Finally we all settled on "Buying The Cow" which Sue had already seen and she said it was funny.

We watched it, and I liked it for the most part. The movie was about the phrase "Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?" Well it was mostly about that. It also involved something very similar to love at first site and soulmates. The plot is as follows: A girl and a guy are going out for like 5 years and she suddenly decides to give him an ultimatum about marrying her. He freaks out and nobody knows why, b/c she's a good catch. Then he figures out it's b/c he doesn't know if she's his "soulmate" b/c he met some other girl when he was younger that he felt some instant connection with, a "blinding truth" sort of a love a first site thing. So he goes searching for the whole movie for some concept of what love is all about.

Okay that stuff isn't that bad, except for the fact that I don't go in for "love at first site". I have NEVER fallen in love at first site, and I think it's mostly for superficial people. What about blind people? How do they fall in love? So at the end of the movie the guy is standing in the rain, and he has the realization that there are a potential of "ones" in the world, not just one that fate has predetermined. He says love is like the rain, sometimes you get caught up in it and sometimes you don't. Sometimes you avoid it and sometimes you protect yourself from it and all this other stuff. Well I thought that analogy was great. Then at the end of the movie, in a series weird occurances, he meets up with this woman that he does not know at ALL but has been following randomly throughout the movie, just b/c he had a "feeling" about her. So at the end they see each other and just start MAKING OUT. Okay that somewhat contradicts the things he said before that, and I think it's just stupid. And who makes out with someone the second they meet them?

Okay sorry about the rant, but I'm a film minor now, I need to get this stuff out of my system.
