Time is Speeding Up

The link for the title actually does not contain the words "time is speeding up", but I just wanted an excuse to include one of my favorite Muse songs.

So time is speeding up. Literally, when you think about it, as you get older you have lived for more and more time, so the proportion of time lived is more than time not lived, therefore time would seem to be speeding up. However, if you are a hippie like me, you believe that time is nonlinear and therefore cannot speed up or slow down but can merely only appear to move, but that's for another blog post.

Anyway, as you can see, I am writing in my blog less and less these days. Part of the reason is that I'm living in NYC, where time is irrelevant because it is the city that never sleeps. I have something to do at all hours if I'm so inclined. Another part of the reason is that I'm trying to prepare for my wedding. It's about a year from now so I really need to buckle down and start making arrangements. I have my dress and I've picked out my bridesmaid dresses, also we have a location for the ceremony and reception, a guest list, and an officiant. We need to start looking into photographers, musicians, and flower places. Once we have those things figured out it'll hopefully be smooth sailing. But for right now, I have a lot of shit to do.

I'm also behind on watching a lot of movies that I've procured recently. I have Ikuru, Funny Games, and Happy Together in my possession, and I've ordered (HD dvds for 3.00$!) The Deer Hunter, The Pianist, The Sting, and Spartacus (hey it was 3.00$ and I've never seen it). I've recently watched Martyrs and Let The Right One In, which I promptly bought for my friend Colin because I thought they were so amazing. I'll let you know about the others.

Another reason I've been so busy is that I've had many visitors lately (this is the first weekend in 3 weeks that I haven't had visitors) and we had a lot of good times seeing various things around the city. The first weekend, Smike and Mel came to visit so I got to try a LOT of sake and look at some manga and toys and other Japanese goodies. The second weekend Sue and Angie came to look for wedding dresses, and we actually found a great one. Last weekend Angela and Dave came up and we walked around Central Park for 2 hours. The best part of that was seeing the Turtle Pond. Those turtles were so adorable.

In other exciting news, one of my favorite people in the world (my close friend Andrew) is moving with Julie to Connecticut for grad school this year! That means they are a whole 4 hours closer to where I live, and we can presumably hang out more often! He has never been to NYC, so I have a lot of showing around to do when he visits. And my best friend Angie may or may not be moving to NYC herself in the next couple of months! With Joe and Sjene already living here, I feel very lucky that I can have so many people I care about living close by.

So...I should wrap up I suppose, but if I don't write for a couple of months, I did not die or anything (well if I don't write in like a year than maybe I died). I'm just trying to do what I need to do before time runs out!

Can you believe I've been writing in this for almost 7 years!!??

Time IS speeding up.
